Falcons on Fire
May 11, 2016
During advisory on Friday, April 8, we had a Falcons on Fire assembly in the gym where the whole school gathered to see some of our student body perform. There were a variety of acts from singing to dancing but some fan favorites were Simi Tupuola and Cassidy Cain.
Simi Tupuola (Grade 10), was the first performer of the day and he started off with a bang. In just two weeks, he made a rap about his life and the crowd was blown away. The audience cheering and getting as excited as the did was really surprising to him. Being the first to perform can be pretty nerve wracking but Simi says, “I was calm, prepared, and ready.” He also says that rapping or being in the music field is a career goal for him.
When Cassidy Cain (Grade 11) came out instantly the crowd got into it. When the music was turned on the bleachers went ecstatic. Cassidy danced for a good three minutes and as the song kept going the crowd got louder and louder. Everyone was on the edge of their seats with excitement when he Dabbed on ‘Em and did the whip. He really fed off the energy from the crowd and was pumped up. Cassidy said that he would like to maybe pursue dancing as a career.
As the results were announced at the end of the day Simi came in first place followed by Cassidy Cain, and then in third place came Stephanie Chung. Cassidy said he intends to do it again next year. The winner of this talent show qualifies for the Brown Bags to Stardom talent show, which includes the winners from all the schools to compete against each other from across the state.
