The End of School Year ‘15-’16

As always the school year was long but it went by fast. But throughout the school year, the Falcons accomplished many things. Some of the things that the Falcons accomplished is sport teams winning championships, academic results, and building connections with other people at Kalani.

This year the Kalani Sports program did pretty well in their respective seasons. All of the sport teams here at Kalani had a good run in their season. Some winning championships, some having the look of agony when coming up short, and some just having a learning experience in the sport.

The academics at Kalani is one of the best public schools in the state of Hawaii. Kalani is ranked 2nd public schools in Hawaii. At Kalani the students have the opportunity To take Advanced Placement course work and exams. The Advanced Placement participation rate at Kalani is 54 percent. The rankings were done by U.S. News Best High Schools. Kalani was also on the Washington Post List of Challenging Schools. The list includes eight schools from Hawaii including private schools.

Throughout the year, the students made new friends by seeing them around school or on the same sports team. Students also made new friends by going to events that were run by their class or KAS. Another way that the students made friends were joining clubs and and being in an organization together.

Since the school year is coming to a close, we are saying goodbye to the class of 2016. The class of 2016 was a class filled with all kinds of unique people. The class of 2016 has 42 valedictorians and some students got accepted to some of the harder schools in the nation. For all the seniors hard work, the Star Advertiser made an article about the remarkable academic accomplishments here at Kalani. Kalani wishes those graduating seniors a good luck in college and in the future.
See you all next year! Go Falcons!
