College

The world is filled with a plethora of opportunities for new learning experiences and career building in life. College could be a person’s first step after graduating high school, but that also depends on the person choice of action. Some could move on into joining the military or some would just start looking for a job that only requires a high school diploma. You could  go to college whether it be only 2 years or 4 years and try to achieve a Bachelor’s degree, but the very few who wish to achieve something greater,will try to achieve a Master’s degree or a Doctorate’s degree which I myself will also try to get. College is filled with new opportunities to change your perspective of education and in college you may choose your own majors to study to eventually meet the requirements of your career.

We as students sometimes struggle with our view of college or career and sometimes we need to receive some help/assistance to help us get on the right track to where we are going. I interviewed Mrs. Arashiro, the College and Career Counselor, about college as I seem to have a little problem knowing about all the requirements and degrees that are important to be successful and enter my desired institution. In order to get a Bachelor’s degree, I as a student must attend at least 4 years of college in  prerequisite courses that fulfills my major.  If I were to achieve a Master’s degree, I would have to attend 2-3 additional years of college, depending on my work ethics and learning strategy. All of us have a desired career in life that must be researched carefully and doing this will help create a sense of knowledge about what to do, such as which majors to take. Of course I am only stating the general path of what students will do after college to reach their goals in life. Mrs. Arashiro’s best advice is to study hard and never give up on anything no matter how hard or easy it will be. Go for your dreams and always remember that there are people out there who you can ask for help, because we are not alone and we always help each other.

1. What would be a sufficient amount of years in college to attain a bachelor’s degree? 4 years is a sufficient amount to attain a bachelor’s degree

2. What would be the total amount of years of college to attain a Master’s degree? It would take about 6-8 years depending on your work ethics

3. What is the best achievement that is needed to get into a medical school? A Doctor in Medicine Degree(MD) and  PhD

4. Will students above the 80% percentile graduate college with all their dreams intact? It all depends on the students and how hard they work in life in order to attain their dreams

5. How do you know which majors to take in order to get into your chosen career? You could research your majors required of your career or ask people that practice your career choice

6. What would be your best advice for the students to get into their chosen careers? Study hard and never give up on anything whether it seems hard or not
