Falcon wings
January 11, 2017
Have you passed the cafeteria recently? If so, you’ve probably seen the latest attraction: the falcon wings. A lot may be wondering why are all these murals appearing around school, more specifically, the falcon wings. Why is it there? What is the purpose? Who is behind this?
Senior, Michael Lee, is the artist behind the wings. “I did this for the students and I wanted to [paint a mural]. I just felt like painting and leaving something for the school when I graduate” says Lee. He started painting about four weeks ago and has already gotten a lot of positive feedback from students and teachers. Junior, Kaela Teho really likes the blue shading, “It’s so detailed and it looks very realistic.” Mr. Yamaguchi thinks that it is a better alternative than graffiti. As for the location, he says that, “everybody walks over there, so everyone can see it”, and he was right; there have been many Instagram posts featuring the wings and I always see someone admiring it as I walk past the cafeteria. If you haven’t seen the falcon wings, be sure to go check it out and snap a few pictures while you’re there.

Way to go Michael for doing something positive and so original for the students, staff, and faculty at Kalani to enjoy! And hats off to Kai for writing the great article! I enjoyed reading all about the wings. Awesome!
