Junior prom 2017: class of 2018’s “golden moment”

May 19, 2017

A few weeks ago, the class of 2018 danced the night away at Junior Prom; held on Sunday, March 26th, at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa. The prom’s theme, “A Golden Moment”, called for an elegant, yet flashy night many won’t forget.

Each table was beautifully decorated, and included complementary frames from House of Photography, a souvenir invitation, photo book, and a small box with assorted chocolates. Near the tables there was a themed self-photobooth, flip book station, and ice cream bar. Many also enjoyed the selection of food: chicken parmesan, roasted vegetables, various pastas, and tiramisu-just to name a few. “Prom was a good experience. The food was good and the pasta was my favorite!” said Jenny Tao.

Almost everyone was up on the dance floor making the most of their night, especially the prom court, who did a short group dance before announcing the prom king and queen. Many wanted to win, but only two lucky people could take the crown home. Congratulations to Kela Iwata and Jarod Kaneshiro for winning prom queen and king!

The class of 2018 had a wonderful time at Junior Prom and will get to experience it for one last time next year. If you’re currently a junior, I’d highly recommend going to senior prom next year, as it is a memorable  experience you won’t forget. “Junior Prom had something for everyone, there was never a dull moment, the night went by so fast!” said an anonymous source. The junior class leadership did a spectacular job and we’re excited to see what they have in store for us next year at Senior Prom.
