Kawaii kon

Kawaii Kon is a yearly event where people all over Hawaii and even from other states and countries come to attend. The amount and variety of people who come to this event is amazing. There are people all over this island who attend and from other states such as California. It’s an event for people who are fans of Japanese animated shows called “anime” and also people who are art fans and gamers like I am. This event’s purpose is to not only spread the word on all of these things but also to bring people together and help local artists and retailers sell their amazing drawings and creations.I attended this event from April 7-9th, 2017.This year there were many changes to the event compared to last time, but the feeling I felt from it was still the same which made me glad.

I was able to create new friends and also meet old ones that I never see anymore because they live on different sides of the island and attend different schools.I mostly attended the event to enter the tournaments there such as the CS:GO tournament and the League Of Legends Tournament. Sadly I didn’t win or place that far but it was a great experience and the people there made the whole thing worth it. I would say that this event is not how most people describe it where it’s just a bunch of nerds and grown up kids wasting their money buying and attending an event that seems childish. I would say that this event is for people to unwind and become characters in shows they watch, which people of every age always wants to do. But it is also a place for people to become close friends no matter the age,race,appearance,etc. Kawaii Kon in my opinion is a place where you are free to be yourself and not be afraid to let others into your own little world no matter how weird it may be.
