Honolulu march for science
May 19, 2017
On April 22, 2017 near the UH campus nearly a thousand people met for the Honolulu March for Science. This March was organized for the sole purpose of getting across the point that facts are important, and that we as a society cannot let our government determine what is and isn’t fact. The March was from the Bachman Lawn on the University Campus to the Longs Drugs down the street and back up to the Lawn. The walk was filled with lots of great people young and old who care about the future of our country and more importantly our planet and what we all can do to help. Before the March began many different people set up some awesome science exhibits and experiments to showcase how awesome science can be. There were many lecturers who spoke before the march about what we alone can do to help and how that no matter how pointless a fight against the government may seem it’s a very important to make sure our government stays true to the facts. The best part though, were the very creative signs people came up with to get across this point that facts are facts, you can’t debate them.
