Kalani swimming takes off

swimming pool during practice. This year, Watanabe was the Oahu Interscholastic Association (OIA) champion in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events at the OIA Championships on Saturday, Jan. 28. At the Hawaii High School Athletic Association State Championship meet on Saturday, Feb. 11, she placed 4th in the 100-yard breaststroke for the second year in a row and 7th in the 50-yard freestyle.
