A typical day in Uegawachi’s life starts with her waking up at 4 AM and getting in a workout before school even begins. Despite being in season, Uegawachi needs to stay strong even during the season. After school, she heads straight to practice, where she puts in the work. However, as soon as she gets home, she has to get her homework done even after all her hard work during the day.
“A lot of my homework is done after practice at night, but I also do homework during lunch at school,” Uegawachi states.
When it comes to game day, Uegawachi prepares by visualizing success, setting herself up for a winning mindset before stepping onto the field.
“I visualize success, nothing else, that’s really the only way to win. Visualizing failure will only create bad habits in the game,” Uegawachi says.
Balancing schoolwork with softball can be a challenge, but Uegawachi manages to find time for both. Uegawachi enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, who shares the same love for his game, being baseball. Together, they work to be the best.
“I hangout with my boyfriend and we normally work on baseball and softball together,” Uegawachi says.
Uegawachi’s biggest inspiration in softball is her father, who played professional baseball for the Cleveland Guardians. His hard work towards the sport motivated Brooklyn to push herself within her softball career.
“My father is my biggest inspiration and he actually played professional baseball for the Cleveland Guardians,” Uegawachi says.
Her goal for the season? — “Have a sub 1 ERA.”
